Watch our video: Continuous Water Quality Monitoring for United Utilities

At APEM Group, we are dedicated to ensuring sustainable and secure water resources for communities. In partnership with United Utilities, we carried out an innovative Continuous Water Quality Monitoring (CWQM) project aimed at safeguarding vital water supplies and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The project focused on real-time monitoring of water quality across key catchments, using state-of-the-art sensor technology. By deploying a network of CWQM stations, we were able to continuously track a range of water quality parameters, such as pH, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This proactive approach enables early detection of pollution events, allowing United Utilities to respond more effectively and mitigate potential environmental impacts.

One of the most valuable aspects of this project was the integration of data analytics. Our team utilised advanced data management systems to process the continuous stream of information, providing actionable insights in real time. This data-driven approach facilitated rapid decision-making, helping to reduce environmental risk and maintain compliance with stringent water quality standards.
