APEM Group’s Alistair Davison Runs for RenewableUK Board

We are thrilled to announce that Alistair Davison, our Managing Director of Marine Science and Development, is running for a position on the RenewableUK Board. If Alistair is elected, this is a significant opportunity for both Alistair and APEM Group, as it will allow us to have a direct influence on the future direction of the renewable energy sector in the UK.

The Impact Alistair Could Have

With over 25 years of global experience in environmental consultancy, Alistair has supported the development of offshore wind projects in the UK and globally. He has dedicated his career to supporting the sustainable development of offshore wind projects and creating a clear pipeline of renewable energy initiatives. His passion lies in empowering developers and working with regulators, stakeholders, and communities to make well-informed, proactive, and sustainable choices for the future of the offshore wind industry and the wise use of our seas.

If elected to the RenewableUK Board, Alistair will focus on:

  • Planned and sustainable practices: Ensuring a clear and sufficiently funded regulatory, policy, and industry guidance framework that supports a clear, predictable pipeline of renewable energy projects. This clarity of pipeline enables the planned investment required to scale up UK supply chains and enhance skills capabilities.
  • UK development: Addressing local challenges and driving predictable growth within the UK offshore wind sector.
  • Innovative solutions: Accelerating the use of shared data to inform future planning and development in the UK. Leveraging technologies such as drones and in-situ monitoring to tackle key technical challenges while driving down costs.
  • Transformational thinking: Promoting multi-use management of offshore wind sites and assisting ports in maximising the opportunities offered by floating wind development.
  • Environmental expertise: Bringing his knowledge and experience of environmental and consent issues around Habitats Regulations Appraisal (HRA) derogation, compensation, and marine Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) to the forefront.
