APEM Group celebrates 20 years of Bat Conservation Ireland at the 2024 Bat Ball

Representatives from Woodrow, part of APEM Group, spent Saturday night in their finest gothic gear, helping bat welfare charity Bat Conservation Ireland celebrate 20 years of conservation work and achievements.

The event included volunteers, private groups and professionals who came together to talk about projects, developments and successes in bat conservation. Oisín O’Sullivan, Senior Ecologist at Woodrow and all-Ireland bat lead for APEM Group, was nominated for the Aoibheann Gaughran Award, which honours the legacy of a devoted conservationist and is awarded for work and commitment that has made a difference to the world of bat conservation and helped bring people together.

‘‘

We’re delighted to support Bat Conservation Ireland in their cause. Over the last 20 years, Irish bat populations has stabilised or increased, and we’re providing community groups, industries and developers across Ireland with new approaches to bat surveying, new technologies and new data capture methods to make sure bats are detected, protected and thriving.
