APEM Group joins Applus+ forming new Environmental Services Division

APEM Group has now officially joined Applus+ following the necessary approvals that were pending when the transaction was announced in September. This marks the launch of a new Environmental Services Division led by APEM Group CEO Leah McGimpsey, who also becomes Executive Vice President of the new division.

09 February 2026 –

The Environmental Services Division will also incorporate the Applus+ global renewable technical advisory teams of Barlovento Applus+ and Enertis Applus+, to create a world-class environmental consulting and advisory division.

Bringing together the environmental consulting capabilities of APEM Group with the technical advisory expertise of Barlovento Applus+ and Enertis Applus+, creates a team of over 1,500 technical experts, focused on delivering services across the asset lifecycle to ensure our clients’ projects are compliant and aligned with environmental best practices.

This will drive new areas of collaboration and career opportunities for our teams while delivering synergies across key end markets of energy, power generation, water, infrastructure, resources and critical minerals.

Richard Bartlett, CEO of Applus+ said:

“I’m delighted to officially welcome APEM Group into Applus+. This combination will bring 1,500 colleagues together to build a world-class environmental consulting and advisory business, while unlocking new and exciting career opportunities for our people and delivering innovative services for our customers.

I’m excited with the start we have made today and look forward to watching our new division grow from strength to strength.”

Leah McGimpsey, CEO of APEM Group and Executive Vice President of the Environmental Services Division of Applus+ commented:

“This marks a major milestone for APEM Group as we broaden our capabilities across the lifecycle of our clients’ projects and further cements our leading presence in the environmental services market.
